Policies & Agreements

We ask every client to arrive 10 minutes early for every appointment to allow adequate time for required paperwork and a brief consultation.  We require this for every client and every session to ensure we are able to meet your needs while providing a safe and enjoyable experience for both you and your massage therapist.  During the consultation essential information is reviewed regarding your session goals, current health, and any potential contraindications.  Additionally, this time allows you to ask any questions you may have and identify any areas for your massage therapist to focus on or avoid.

In the event that you do not arrive early or arrive late for your appointment, the time required to conduct the consultation will be deducted from your session time.

To be courteous and respectful of the time and needs of other clients and your massage therapist, we may enforce the following policy—at the discretion of management.

We require you to provide at least 24-hour notice prior to your appointment start time to cancel or reschedule your appointment without penalty.  Up to the full cost of your scheduled services may be forfeited in the event that you:

• fail to provide 24-hour notice

• fail to show up for your appointment 

• arrive late for your appointment by 10 minutes or more.

If you arrive late for an appointment, your services may be cut short to stay within your scheduled time slot or your appointment may be canceled if you are late by 10 minutes or more. The time needed to conduct the required pre-session consultation will also be deducted from your service time. 

If you consistently cancel, miss, or arrive late for appointments, you may be blocked from scheduling any further appointments.

Exceptions and special circumstances will be considered on a case-by-case basis. 

To cancel or reschedule your appointment please access our online booking system or contact us directly via phone, text, or email.

If your massage therapist needs to cancel/reschedule, we will do our best to inform you at least 24 hours prior to your appointment using the phone number provided when you scheduled.  In this event, you will be provided the option of rescheduling (no refund) or canceling (full refund).

The following is the Client Agreement we have all clients sign as part of their New Client Intake Forms.

I understand/agree to:

• Massage therapy may have risks.  Risks associated with massage therapy include, but are not limited to, superficial bruising, short-term muscle soreness, and/or aggravation of injuries/illnesses.  I will not hold my massage therapist responsible for pain or discomfort experienced during or after the session.

• Disclose all medical conditions, past and present injuries, and medications.  Additional and serious risks exist for a variety of health conditions and medications.  Massage therapists must be aware of my health status to reduce/minimize these risks.  I have completed this form to the best of my knowledge and agree to inform my massage therapist of any changes in my health/medications.

• Contagious conditions or symptoms.  It is my responsibility to inform my massage therapist of any contagious conditions or symptoms and to cancel my appointment if I am experiencing fever, nausea/vomiting, or other cold/flu symptoms.

• Immediately inform my massage therapist of any pain or discomfort experienced during the session.  Thus, the massage therapist may modify pressure/techniques as appropriate to meet my level of comfort.

• My information is confidential.  All information/details I provide will be kept confidential unless legally subpoenaed by a court or I provide written consent.

• Policies and procedures.  Policies and related information are available for review at www.mountainfoxmassage.com or during my appointment (by request); including services offered, fees for services, accepted payments; appointment setting and cancellations/lateness; and general session procedures.

• Massage therapy is not a substitute for medical care.  Massage therapists are not qualified to diagnose, prescribe, or treat physical/mental illness, nothing said during a massage session should be construed as such.

• Services provided are non-sexual in nature.  Sexual innuendos, jokes, or advances at any time may result in immediate termination of the massage session, refusal of future services, and forfeiture of the session fee. 

• Massage therapy is voluntary, and a session can be terminated at any time.  I or the massage therapist may terminate a massage therapy session at any time, for any reason.  Refunds of session fees will be decided case-by-case.

• Release from liability.  By signing this release, I waive and release my massage therapist from any liability, past, present, and future relating to massage therapy and bodywork.
